I think Windows 7 is a great OS. Definitely a big step up from Windows Vista, and I think most of you agree with me. Windows 7 has been running happily on my Pentium 4 computer with 2 GBs of RAM. In my opinion, it is the best OS Microsoft has every made. Even in the RC stage I have had minimal problems with it. I have installed loads of programs on it without any compatibility issues. Windows 7 is going to change the way people think about their computers and Windows all together, at least I hope. I will be posting another article about Windows 7 in a couple of months after I have bought Windows 7 and heard other people's opinions. Hopefully the news will be good.

How to get the Gmail Beta logo back
As you have probably noticed, Google's email service (Gmail) has finally come out of beta. If you liked the Gmail beta logo for some reason, there is a way to get it back. Thanks to Gmail Labs it is possible for this to happen.
Once you are at the regular Gmail page, click the green Gmail Labs button on the top right hand side of the page. Clicking that will bring you to the Gmail Labs page where you can choose what things you want to test out. Since the topic of this post is to bring back the Gmail beta logo, we are going to enable the "Back to Beta" option (it is the fourth one down at the time of this post) Once you have enabled that, your Gmail logo will now display the tiny "BETA" text on the Gmail logo, as if Gmail were still in beta.

Best freeware for ripping movies?
Like me, I have a few movies that I really like. I would love to back them up on my computer so if something happens to the DVD itself, I can still watch them. I have heard about this freeware application for Windows and Mac for a long time called Handbrake. I tried it once and I could not get it to rip a DVD. I gave the program another try a couple of days ago. Handbrake did the job very well. Handbrake has many options to change the size of the video and or declare how big the file will be on the computer.

Swap My Dock
I love customizing the dock on my Mac. But I have come to find a good application to do it with.
Swap My Dock lets you easily customize your dock to your enjoyment. Swap My Dock is a free application only for the Mac. Windows, of course, does not have a dock.
MIM for iPhone/iPod Touch (JailBrake Only)
Make It Mine is a simple application for the iPhone/iPod Touch that lets you customize the carrier and banner text. It is only for jailbroken devices. You can find it in Cydia if you search the letters "MIM" (without the quotes)

Windows 7 Beta 1 Build 7000
I have downloaded the Windows 7 beta 1 a few days ago. Ive been playing around with it in a virtual machine and have found it a great operating system. Microsoft has really put a lot of effort into this and has made many good changes that will make me want to upgrade. I have noticed a few things different then Vista.
1. The sidebar gadgets do not have a sidebar.
The gadgets in Windows 7 will not have a sidebar to put them on.
I like this feature.
2. More customizable. Windows 7 has many more themes then Vista does. The themes range from the original Windows 7 theme to dark DOS looking colors theme. There is also a Windows classic theme. I also like this feature.
3. The snap windows feature. Windows 7 lets you snap different windows that you have open to the side of the screen or to other windows.
There are many other different features to explore in Windows 7. Go ahead, download it yourself.
