Why I would recomend Windows Vista.
Windows Vista might have a few bugs, but it is easier and more efficient to use than XP. The control panel comes with more options which makes finding things way easier. The start menu is way more easier with its search bar and the games, music, and documents buttons.
Windows Vista also has better security with its new Windows Defender which has malware, spyware protection.
Know lets talk about the programs. Windows Vista comes with many useful programs and utilities. Windows Media Center is a fun way to watch movie trailers, TV shorts, news, videos from MSN video, and much more. Vista also comes with many other useful tools like the Snipping Tool and Flip3D. Flip3D does not come with Windows Vista Home Basic.
With Windows Vista I can promise you that you will have less trouble with non responding programs. When a program has an error Windows will automatically try to fix the problem, and will give you options of what to do. I have had Windows Vista Home Premium for about 1 month know and I have had no troubles with it, and I have not had to manually press the off button because of a freeze up.
Windows Vista looks and acts better than any other Windows OS. You can also customize it the way you like. Pretty much everything is transparent, which looks quite good.
If you like the windows classic theme you can switch back to that. You can also make the theme
look like Windows Vista Home Basic. Windows Vista also comes with a nice sidebar. You can add Gadgets from the add Gadgets menu. The Gadgets that come with Windows consists of, sideshow, calender, clock, news feed, and stocks. Most of those are customizable. Vista still has everything that Windows XP has and more.
