KickYouTube

Have you ever wanted to download YouTube videos and not have to go through the hassle of converting them by yourself? Well, there is a simple solution. It's called KickYouTube. On the website, it has a video to show how to use KickYouTube. You do not have to download any software to do this.

Original URL:

KickYouTube URL:

Insert "kick" (without the quotes) before youtube.com. So for example it would be http://www.kickyoutube.com/watch?v=jsCTZ1jB8U8&feature=channel_page

You can use the command on every video to my knowledge.
It may not work the first time, so keep trying.

(click the images to make them better quality)

Twitter Updates

Do you have a Twitter account? Do you even know what Twitter is? If you do not know, Twitter is a social site that you can post micro-updates about what you are doing in 140 characters or less.
This post is not about Twitter in general but about its fantastic updates. As you could probably tell if you do have a Twitter account, Twitter has updated their features and design. I am especially thrilled with these updates. They have made Twitter more fun and easier.
See my post about Twitter clients, with Twitter clients you do not have to go to the Twitter homepage to update your status.

Google Chrome Broswer

The Google Chrome Browser Beta is going to be released today, September 2, 2008. I am very excited about the new browser, although I really hope that it is fast and not sluggish. Google has come out with a comic to help explain the Chrome Browser and what it does. After the Beta version of Chrome is released, I will do a review on it. I will also say the things about it I do like, and do not like.

Sauerbraten Game Review

I love open source programs, especially games.  In fact, I came across this really good open source game called Sauerbraten.  I now the name is kind of hard to pronounce but the game is very good.  In the game, on single-player, there are many different levels that you can play.  On those levels there are monsters that you have to kill.  I think there are around maybe 50 levels or maps to play on.  The game also has a very helpful and fun editor.  When you go onto a map, you can edit the map by pressing E.  You have the ability to change the size of the map, make more cubes of land, place water, lava, glass etc.. and, even place objects on the map.  There is also a multiplayer part of the game.  In multiplayer you fight the other players in many different game types such as capture the flag, coopedit, and more.  In coopedit you can use the edit tool.

Sauerbraten is available on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.

Below is a video of it I found:

Go ahead, download the game yourself and see.

Spore Creature Creator

Attention Spore fans, the Spore Creature Creator is coming out on June 17, 2008!

After I download it, I will tell you how I like it in this post.

http://www.spore.com/

Look around the site, and have fun with it!

My Review:

As you now I downloaded the Spore Creature Creator yesterday.
I am very impressed! The creatures that you can make are fully customizable.
You can make a bunch on combination's of body parts and other things that you can put on your creature, so you can make your creature very unique.

Here is a creature I made:

The game has a built in camera and screen recorder. That is how I recorded the video above. It should run good on your machine even if you turn up the graphics.
I am very exited that the real game is going to come out soon.
I would recommend this game to anyone who has a big imagination and likes to make things.

Fore more info on the game go to http://www.spore.com/

What's the Best OS for Data Storage and Stability?

Chris Pirillo: What's the Best OS for Data Storage and Stability?

I think that Mac OS X would be very reliable for data storage, and stability, considering Mac OS X doesn't crash or fail usually.
I have Windows Vista though.

What I think about Sabayon Linux

I have just recently downloaded the Sabayon Linux ISO image. I made a dual boot with Windows Vista and Sabayon Linux.

WHAT I LIKE:

The things I like about Sabayon Linux is that it is very easy to use. There are many tools to use,
and it even comes with pretty much all the open source programs that you will ever need.
I also love Compiz Fusion. Compiz Fusion is a program that displays very cool effects on your screen.

I really like the user interface, it is easy to navigate.

If you would like to see a demo of Compiz Fusion, search YouTube to find video of it.

I also like how you can customize the theme, and make it feel like you want it to.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

There are not many things I don't like about Sabayon Linux.
Well, one thing that I can think of that I don't like is that it is hard or impossible to get the original theme back that Sabayon came with.

To learn more about Sabayon Linux visit: http://www.sabayonlinux.org/

Newton Virus/Art Virus

Look what I came across today:

That is the Newton Virus. It is a virus that will strike once and only once. It does not destroy files and is thought of as an art virus. It uses the laptops speedometer
to do these effects. This virus might even be fun to have, if you like to see some cool effects.

Macs have some nice viruses!
Sometimes...

Thanks, http://www.michaeltalk.com/ for showing my this cool/weird virus!

Play Station 3 Home

I have recently come across this social game for the Play Station 3.

It is called Home.
Here is a video demonstration:

If I had a Play Station 3, I would definitely use Home.
It looks and sounds very fun.
It has many features, and many things to do. You can make your own Apartment or living space in the game.
I am pretty sure it is free to play online on the Play Station 3.
It was a good idea that Sony has made this game for the Play Station 3, because it
might raise their sales.

RockBox

RockBox is a hack or mod that you can put on your music player (only if it is supported for RockBox).  Or, you can think of it as a different OS for the music player.  It puts all new features onto your music playing device and even can put more things that you can do onto the music device that your music device couldn't do when you bought it.  I put RockBox onto my Ipod Nano 1st generation.  It gave me tons of games, demos, applications, features and more.  I love it.  You can choose different themes for RockBox on your music device.  If you are looking for a good and fun alliterative to your music player's look and how you use it, try RockBox for free.

Chris Pirillo: Is the Adobe Media Player any Good?

Chris Pirillo talks about Adobe Media Player.

Adobe Media Player lets you play episodes of some TV shows, view podcasts, and lets you play your media files in Adobe Media Player. I think Adobe Media Player is just like iTunes or Windows Media Player, but you can do more with it according to the official video demo. If you don't have iTunes or Windows Media Player, then this might be a good media player for you. If you do have iTunes, Windows Media Player, Adobe Media Player might still do good things for you. Adobe Media Player is free.

World of Sand

I came across this game called World of Sand. World of Sand is a physics game were you play with sand and other elements. The sand does different things depending on what you do with it. It is probably the best physics game that you don't have to download.

See the video below:

It is very realistic and can keep you playing for hours. It is not a flash game, it uses Java. It is free and is located here:

Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000

I have recently bought a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 from Walmart.

It is a great webcam! It has a 1.3 MP photo capability and a 640 x 480 video resolution.
It has a very sensitive microphone and can pick of your voice just from talking normally.
It was $49.95 US. It is small with white and black colors. You can zoom, tilt, and pan with the webcam software. You can also focus the camera with a wheel that the camera has in front of the lens. The webcam comes with a stand that you can move it up, down, left, and right. The Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 is probably the best webcam I have ever owned.

(You might have to refresh the page again to get the picture to show up)

Guitar Hero 3 Review

Guitar Hero is a great game. The idea of it is just simply amazing.
In Guitar Hero 3, you can choose from over 70 songs to play.

This is me playing Guitar Hero 3 below:

You can choose from 4 difficulty's, easy, medium, hard, or expert.
The songs very from fast to slow.

Guitar Hero 3's career mode lets you have your own band and raise money. With the money you can buy more songs, guitars, characters, finishes, and clothes.
You can battle people online or you can play co-op with someone online.
You can also plug in two guitars so if someone else wants to play. The graphics are amazing and the characters play the notes you strum.

The OS Accident

Last night I tried installing Windows XP on a partitioned part of my hard drive.
I put in the Windows XP disk in and rebooted, so I could install Windows XP without entering Windows Vista. I chose to install XP on drive F, thats the partition I made specifically for XP. So XP installed and I was proud and happy of myself, but not for long. After the installation was complete, I rebooted. I didnt see the Windows Boot Manager screen come up. I had then realized what I have done, I had installed Windows XP over my Windows Vista! It was a terrible mess.
I have had expirience with dual booting because I have a dual boot with Linux and Windows Vista.
I went to sleep and didnt mess with it that night. The next morning my dad wakes me up and asks me for my computer password. I tell him, then I walk into my computer room and see that Vista is working correctly. I didnt care about XP anymore. Well, the lesson has been learned.

Top Six Tips before getting Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Chris Pirillo talks about the top six tips before getting Vista SP1.

My opinion is that you should install service packs. If you are having problems with Vista then
you should definitely install the SP because it might fix some of your problems.
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is available via the Windows Update. Be sure to make a system restore point
before installing service pack 1.

Nintendo Wii Short Talk

The Nintendo Wii is a unique gaming system.  It does more than gaming.  It can surf the web, view photos, view weather, make a mii, and much more.  There are many games for the wii.

The Wii  isn't the most power full gaming system in specs but probably is one of the most fun gaming systems.  The PS3 and the Xbox 360 have way more processing power.

iPhone Review

The iphone has a phone, mail, photos, ipod, contacts, camera, Wifi-Itunes Store, YouTube, Google Maps, Internet (Safari), widgets, and much more. It is a touch screen with multi-touch technology, the screen is very soft and does not hurt your finger. It has a built in Accelerometer, so if you tilt it, Safari tilts with it. Unfortunately the iPhone only is available with AT&T. If you want to see all the official iPhone features go to apple.com.

The apple TV is a somthing you plug into your TV for podcats, YouTube Videos, Video, Photos, and Movies.  You can also rent movies with the Movie Rental Feature.  It looks like a Mac Mini.

Take a look at the Apple TV features.  The hard drive sizes come in 40 GB and 160 GB.
It comes with an Apple Remote so you can control the Apple TV.  For more specs look at the Apple TV specs at apple.com.  The Apple TV has built in WIFI, so it is really easy to get content onto it.

Mac Book Air Review

I have not personally used the Mac Book Air, but I have watched the videos on apple.com.
I am not impressed. It is a little to skinny for me, and there is not even a disk drive in it. I do like the full sized key-board with the back light. It has lots of USB hookups and all the same hookups as the Mac Book Pro. The Mac Book Air is 0.76" inch tall and 12.8 inches wide. There is a built in air port extreme WIFI for out of the box internet access. It has a core 2 duo processor with 1.6 GHz or optional 1.8 GHz of power. It comes with an 80GB hard drive. It has a built in iSight camera. When you buy it, it comes with MAC OS X v10.5 Leopard.
The touch pad has special hand touch gestures that only come with the Mac Book Air. It can operate up to 5 hours with a full charge.

C-Net Download.com

The Best site for downloading all kinds of programs!

http://www.download.com/

Why I would recomend Windows Vista.

Windows Vista might have a few bugs, but it is easier and more efficient to use than XP. The control panel comes with more options which makes finding things way easier. The start menu is way more easier with its search bar and the games, music, and documents buttons.
Windows Vista also has better security with its new Windows Defender which has malware, spyware protection.

Know lets talk about the programs. Windows Vista comes with many useful programs and utilities. Windows Media Center is a fun way to watch movie trailers, TV shorts, news, videos from MSN video, and much more. Vista also comes with many other useful tools like the Snipping Tool and Flip3D. Flip3D does not come with Windows Vista Home Basic.

With Windows Vista I can promise you that you will have less trouble with non responding programs. When a program has an error Windows will automatically try to fix the problem, and will give you options of what to do. I have had Windows Vista Home Premium for about 1 month know and I have had no troubles with it, and I have not had to manually press the off button because of a freeze up.

Windows Vista looks and acts better than any other Windows OS. You can also customize it the way you like. Pretty much everything is transparent, which looks quite good.
If you like the windows classic theme you can switch back to that. You can also make the theme
look like Windows Vista Home Basic. Windows Vista also comes with a nice sidebar. You can add Gadgets from the add Gadgets menu. The Gadgets that come with Windows consists of, sideshow, calender, clock, news feed, and stocks. Most of those are customizable. Vista still has everything that Windows XP has and more.

Click Here to see all the Windows Vista Versions.
